2016 Nissan Titan Preview

The 2016 Nissan Titan is the most awaited truck to hit the markets next year. When it comes to American trucks, Nissan has been known to roll out Sushi that taste like the American Cheeseburger! With an aim to shun that image, Nissan has finally come up the 2016 Nissan Titan Diesel, which is an incredibly long delinquent update! But like they say, better late than never. This new, smartened up full-size half-ton pickup has been predicted to give its competitors a run for their money.
The 2016 Nissan Titan Diesel boasts an American-made engine; the Cummins 5.0L turbodiesel V8 engine. Let’s take a look at the engine specs.
·         Horsepower @ RPM – 310 HP @ 3,200 RPM
·         Torque @ RPM – 555 lb-ft @ 1,600 RPM
·         Transmission – Heavy duty, 6-speed Aisin Automatic Transmission
·         Exhaust – Diesel Particulate Filter and Selective Catalytic Reduction
Considering the engine specs, the 2016 Nissan Titan Diesel would supposedly have a top speed of 125 mph and it should achieve the speed of first 60 mph in less than seven seconds.
Coming to the exteriors now, we feel that the design team at Nissan has certainly put in some serious efforts to make this truck look more refined than its predecessor. Nevertheless, the truck still carries that a hint of retro within the elaborate chrome mesh frame with the name TITAN imprinted across its upper edge. Here are the details of the truck’s exterior dimensions.
·         Length – 242.9”
·         Height – 78.7”
·         Width – 79.4/80.6”

The interiors of the 2016 Nissan Titan Diesel are much better and luxurious-looking than its predecessor. The cabin is very spacious and the design is extremely symmetric. Adorned in French-stitched dual toned leather upholstery, the seats have heating and cooling features to make life easier during different weather conditions. The middle tunnel is upholstered in leather as well and has cup-holders and space to store small items.
The dashboard has an angular design with wooden accents. The instrument panel looks very heavy and houses all kinds of digital and analog gauges. The 5” touchscreen color display serves as the means of infotainment. Here are some numbers about the interior space.
·         Headroom – 43.5” front and 40.4”rear
·         Shoulder Room -  63.3” front and 63.6”rear
·         Hip Room –  60.8” front and 60.3”rear
The 2016 Nissan Titan diesel has all the essential safety features that a truck should have; airbags, stability and traction control, trailer-sway control, anti-lock brakes and hill start assist. Moreover, it has a RearView Monitor with cameras capturing bird’s eye view of the trucks surrounding. This system proves particularly helpful while parking and maneuvering the truck in congested areas. The Monitor system also senses moving objects around the truck and notifies the driver by flashing notifications on the screen and playing the warning sound.
It is the Nissan Titan XD model that will house the Cummins 5.0L turbodiesel V8 engine. The truck has the payload capacity of 2,000 lbs and can tow 12,000 lbs while being fuel efficient at the same time. The engine uses 20% less fuel in comparison to the other V8 engines. Nissan intends to roll out standard models of Nissan Titan with V8 and V6 gasoline engines as well.

The 2016 Nissan Titan XD diesel will cost $50,000 while the standard models would be priced at $ 25,000 give or take. The XD model is expected to launch in early 2016. Chevrolet and Ford really need to watch out because 2016 Nissan Titan can probably throw them off guard!
